🎯 Role Summary

The Senior Advisor, Youth Livelihoods will lead technical strategy, strengthen program quality, and support ChildFund’s global livelihoods portfolio. The role ensures youth economic empowerment initiatives—such as skills development, entrepreneurship, employability, green jobs, and workforce readiness—are designed for high impact. This position plays a critical role in shaping evidence-based programs, strengthening global partnerships, advancing donor engagement, and helping ChildFund reach its vision of positively impacting 100 million children and their families worldwide.

🧩 Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership to enhance the global livelihoods portfolio with evidence-driven approaches.
  • Coordinate with MERL teams to develop high-quality, results-focused grant proposals.
  • Lead partnership development with private sector, governments, donors, and stakeholders.
  • Support resource expansion, collaborating with Business Development and Grant Acquisition teams.
  • Guide impact assessments and learning, contributing to global thought leadership.
  • Ensure strong safeguarding practices in all program areas and engagements.
  • Represent ChildFund in technical forums, promoting strategic partnerships and visibility.

🎓 Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in international relations, development, business, economics, education, or related field (Required).
  • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field (Preferred).

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years as a regional or global livelihoods sector expert.
  • At least 3 years international field experience managing livelihoods programs.
  • Proven experience designing large-scale livelihood-focused grants (USG, EU, UNICEF, foundations, multilaterals).
  • Strong proposal writing and technical documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain donor and stakeholder relationships.

Language:

  • English fluency required.
  • Second language proficiency preferred.
