The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) is seeking a Social Media & Events Communications Intern for a remote, full-time internship running up to nine months. 🎯 Role Summary

The Social Media & Events Communications Intern will support GLF’s digital communications, event coordination and multimedia content development. The role enhances the GLF’s mission by ensuring high-quality digital storytelling, youth engagement, and seamless virtual event delivery. Interns will gain hands-on experience in global sustainability communications while contributing to events that drive real environmental action.

🧩 Key Responsibilities

  • Support digital communications by updating event information across GLF media channels.
  • Prepare internal and external event materials for major GLF initiatives.
  • Produce & curate multimedia content, including social media posts, videos and event assets.
  • Assist with live chat moderation during online events.
  • Coordinate the GLF Social Media Ambassadors Program, sharing toolkits and facilitating collaborations.
  • Engage ambassadors across digital platforms to boost community outreach.
  • Support social media content production through basic editing (CapCut, Canva, Adobe Premiere).

🎓 Required Qualifications

Education

  • Enrollment in or recent completion of a BSc/MSc in environmental sciences, climate studies, international development, communications, political science, sustainability, or related fields.

Experience

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience with social media content creation (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
  • Familiarity with community engagement or youth networks is highly desirable.
  • Experience in event coordination (virtual or in-person) is a plus.
  • Comfort working remotely across time zones.
  • Knowledge of WordPress, Canva, Trello or similar tools is an advantage.

Languages

  • Fluent English (written and spoken).
  • Additional languages—Spanish, French or Portuguese—are an asset.
