🎯 Role Summary

The Digital Communications Intern will support the Chinese Language Unit in producing engaging, accurate, and impactful multimedia content for UN social media channels. The role focuses on research, content development, analytics, event coverage, and multilingual communications. Interns will contribute directly to UN global digital outreach, helping the organization connect with diverse audiences and elevate awareness of its mandates and campaigns across Chinese-language platforms.

🧩 Key Responsibilities

  • Research and draft text, images, videos, and infographics for Chinese-language social media content.
  • Monitor and analyze engagement metrics and platform data to improve content performance.
  • Capture content from UN events and activities at Headquarters in New York.
  • Create and edit short-form and long-form multimedia content for platforms like Weibo, Bilibili, and Kuaishou.
  • Support meetings by preparing agendas, taking notes, and participating as an observer.
  • Assist in special communication projects assigned by the supervisor.
  • Coordinate content scheduling to ensure timely posting and platform alignment.

🎓 Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. programme. Final-year students qualify.

Experience:

  • No professional experience required; communication-related studies preferred.

Language:

  • Fluency in Chinese is mandatory.
  • English or French required (UN working languages).
  • Knowledge of other UN languages is an advantage.
